PRINTA

2018

The second event in the PERCH series, Printa was a celebration of zines and the underground artists making them. Zines were developed as a form of “underground press”, a cheap way to self-publish one’s unfiltered thoughts and feelings. They often are used as mechanisms for retaliation, activism, poetry, and visual art within underground creative spaces. These zines are personal and political and they offer a platform to speak unchecked in our monopolized culture that is constantly filtered and infiltrated.

Through strategic planning and community outreach, we were able to connect with existent organizations such as Good Vibrations (a sex-positive store in Cambridge), Godine Library (MassArt’s Library), and the Massachusetts Commission of LGBTQ Health.

An Eventworks production.

In collaboration with Ryann Feldman.
