Studio For Interrelated Wrestling

The Studio for Interrelated Wrestling was an idea planted in our SIM community years before us that had never quite come to fruition. We approached this event with the intention to deconstruct stigmas, create platforms to appreciate non-commercially accepted art practices, and to support the current artistic community at large. With the assistance and encouragement of “Nick Raygun” (Nick Regan) as co-producer and protagonist of the headlining match, we began to move forward with executing our largest (and most theatrical) production.
Our main goal was to help expose performative wrestling as an art practice, a skill developed from a combination of learned choreography, acting, costuming, and much more. Students developed their own personas with background stories and handmade costumes, receiving training and advice from Providence-based professional wrestler “Sully Banger” (Michael Heimall).
